And our fabulously entertaining Evita Arce is the choreographer for these routines. Following that, the show travels to Japan to commence a 5-week tour in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka.

....the flapper consisted of a fast life character .....Flappers smoked, drank, and participated in many new dances that had never been seen before.  Those flappers who could afford it would often be seen driving cars because cars were fast and risky which perfectly fit the personality of these women......

Jazz Age Saturday On The Island

Governor's Island is that enchanting little Island in the middle of New York Harbor; the one you've always been curious about. Well, here's your chance to see what it's all about. This will be a marvelous afternoon of hot jazz, dance, vintage automoblies, vintage clothing, and food. To set foot on Governor's Island is to step back into another time. 18th-Century military fortresses, naval quarters, expansive greens, and breathtaking panoramas of New York Harbor abound.

To get you off on the right foot, Roddy Caravella of the Lindy Hop All Stars and company will show you how to Charleston and Peabody. An expansive green shaded by century-old oak trees will be your speakeasy, with a 20x30 parquet dancefloor.

The History Channel presents: World War II Swing Show

The Lindy Hop ALLSTARS and friends perform on the USS Intrepid Flight Deck Sunday August 14th (performance between 10am-12 noon). The USS Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum is at Pier 86, (12th Ave at 46th Street). although this show is closed to the public, those who pay admission to attend the museum will be able to gather on the flight deck and most likely will be able to see some of the dancing. Selected moments from our performances will be broadcast that night at 9pm on The History Channel!
